1 Clasp - ALLIED FORCE. In cupro-nickel, original engraved naming "79626994 MCPL BG WALSH" had been crossed out by the use of a series of X's, measuring 36.5 mm (w) x 52.5 mm (h) inclusive of its integral suspension with maple leaf cluster, edge nicks, original ribbon with pinback, very fine.

Footnote: The General Service Medal is awarded to Canadian Forces members and Canadian civilians who deploy outside Canada but not necessarily into a defined theatre of operations, to provide direct support, on a full-time basis, to operations conducted in the presence of an armed enemy. The medal is always awarded with a ribbon specific to the theatre or task being recognized, each ribbon having its own criteria. The Allied Force clasp was awarded to personnel who served at least thirty days in Aviano and/or Vincenza, Italy in direct support of the air campaign in Kosovo between March 24 and June 10, 1999, of which 146 were awarded.
