Canada. A Rare Toronto City Police Medal of Honour, by Birks-Ellis

In sterling silver, a round medal, obverse presenting the city of Toronto coat of arms surrounded by the inscription TORONTO CITY POLICE, the reverse is plain, inscribed FOR / DISTINGUISHED / POLICE / SERVICE, edge impressed BIRKS-ELLIS and STERLING, suspended from a solid decorative bar, measuring 41.43mm (w) x 48.75mm (h – inclusive of integral suspension bar), weighs 39.0 grams (including ribbon), worn on the original blue and maroon ribbon with a brooch style pin on reverse, dark patina, small edge bruises, overall very fine condition.
