Austria, Imperial. A Widows and Orphaned Children of Austria Pin

A circular pin constructed of silvered bronze and multi-coloured enamels, the obverse bears a centred black and red coat of arms, encompassed by a gilded border, surrounded by a red enamel border inscribed with “DEN WITWEN WAISEN OBEROSTERREICH” (THE WIDOWS AND ORPHANS OF UPPER AUSTRIA), the border is split into quadrants by four edelweiss flowers, the reverse is plain and bears a horizontal pinback, measuring 28.38 mm, very fine.
