(Allgemeines (Militar) Ehrenzeichen). Instituted 14 June 1793. A circular medal constructed of silver, the obverse centre bears the inscription “VERDIENST UM DEN STAAT” (MERIT OF THE STATE) encompassed by a laurel wreath tied with a ribbon in a bow at the bottom, the reverse bears the crowned cipher “FWR III” for Friedrich Wilhelm Rex III, measuring 39.30 mm (w) x 43.90, with loop for suspension and a commemorative button “50” on a pebbled background, on a white and orange striped ribbon, very fine.
