(Waterloo Medaille) Instituted December 1817. A circular medal constructed of silver, the obverse bears a right facing bust of Prince Regent George, circumscribed with “GEORG PRINZ REGENT 1815”, the reverse centre is inscribed “WATERLOO JUN XVIII”, below is an open ended wreath of laurel tied with a ribbon, above is a breast plate superimposed over two spears and two flag staffs, circumscribed with “HANNOVERSCHER TAPFERKEIT”, the obverse is marked “W.WYON”, the edge is inscribed with “SOLDAT ANDREAS TAPPE LANDWEHR BAT. SALZGITTER”, with suspension loop on a maroon and blue ribbon, measuring 34.97 mm (w) x 39.79 mm (h), weighing 28.7 g, very fine.
