(Kriegsdenkmünze) Instituted 20 May 1871. A circular medal constructed of gilt bronze, the obverse centre bearing a crowned cipher “W” with the inscription “Dem siegreichen heere” (The victorious army) below, circumscribed with “Gott war mit uns Ihm sei die Ehre” (God was with us, to Him be the glory), the reverse bears the dates “1870 1871” inscribed in the centre encompassed by a laurel wreath tied with a ribbon on the bottom superimposed over an iron cross paty with rays in the quadrants between the arms, measuring 29.03 mm (w) x 33.84 mm (h), with loop for suspension on a red, black and white striped ribbon with clasp inscribed with “NOISSEVILLE” on a pebbled background, very fine.
