In pickled brass, maker marked "ELLIS BROS" on the reverse, measuring 46.3 mm (w) x 46.3 mm (h), both lugs intact, the obverse exhibiting a grayish appearance from cleaning, near extremely fine.
Footnote: The Battalion was raised in the County of Ontario, Ontario with mobilization headquarters at Whitby under the authority of G.O. 69, July 15, 1916. The Battalion sailed May 3, 1917 under the command of Lieutenant-Colonel A.A. Cockburn with a strength of 9 officers and 208 other ranks. In England, the Battalion was absorbed into the 18th Reserve Battalion. It was disbanded on September 15, 1920.
