Germany, SS. A Long Service Award, II Class for 12 Years

(SS-Dienstauszeichnung, II. Klasse für 12 Jahre). Instituted 30 January 1938. (1938-1941 issue). Constructed of silvered bronze, on loop for suspension from its period correct replacement ribbon, consisting of a swastika with ribbed arms, the obverse bearing raised central double Sig runes, within an oak leaf wreath, the reverse bearing an inscription of “FÜR TREUE DIENSTE IN DER SS” (“FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE IN THE SS”), unmarked, measuring 38.06 mm (w) x 42.40 mm (h), weighing 26.2 grams, minor loss of finish evident, in overall near extremely fine condition.
