Hamburg, Free City. A Hanseaten Cross, (Hanseatenkreuz) Instituted 10 September 1915. A straight-armed cross paty with slightly concaved ends constructed of silvered bronze and red enamels, the obverse centre bears a castle on a red enamel background, the cross arms are red enamel, the reverse centre bears the inscription “Fur Verdienst im Krieg 1914”, measuring 40.04 mm (w) x 44.02 mm (h), on a white and orange ribbon; Bavaria, Kingdom. A Ludwig II Victory Over France 1871 Medal, A circular medal constructed of bronze, the obverse bears the right-facing portrait of Ludwig II of Bayern, circumscribed with “LUDWIG II KOENIG V. BAYERN”, the reverse bears a a sitting robed woman holding a cornocopia in one hand and a wreath in the other, circumscribed with “DURCH KAMPF UND SIEG ZUM FRIEDEN” (BY BATTLE AND VICTORY TO PEACE), underneath is inscribed “FRIEDENSSCHLUSS ZU FRANKFURT A.M. 10 MAI 1871” (PEACE CLOSE TO FRANKFURT A.M. 10 MAY 1871), the edge is marked “N” and has two stamped stars, with loop for suspension, marked on the obverse “S. RIES” and marked on the reverse “VOIGT”, measuring 33.14 mm (w) x 37.04 mm (h); 1914 Iron Cross, II Class, (Eisernes Kreuz 1914 II. Klasse). Reinstituted 5 August 1914 by Kaiser Wilhelm II. (1914-1918 issue). An Iron cross paty constructed of iron and silver, with a blackened magnetic iron core with ribbed silver frame, the obverse with a central initial “W”, the six o’clock arm with a reinstitution date of “1914”, the twelve o’clcok arm with a royal crown, the reverse with three central oak leaves, the six o’clock arm with an initial institution date of “1813”, the twelve o’clock arm with initials “FW” topped by a royal crown, unmarked, measuring 43.90 mm (w) x 47.10 mm (h); all very fine.
