Germany, Wehrmacht. A Clasp to the 1939 Iron Cross I Class, Type I, with Case

(Spange zum Eisernen Kreuz). An excellent example in silvered tombak, the obverse consisting of a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, on top of a scalloped trapezoidal plaque bearing a raised date of “1939”, the reverse with a raised barrel hinge and tapering vertical pinback meeting a flattened catch, unmarked, measuring 44.18 mm (w) x 31.04 mm (h), weighing 13.6 grams, accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of heavy card stock with a faux black leather exterior liner, the exterior lid with a finely-detailed silver embossed depiction of the decoration, the interior with a padded white satin lid liner and partially intact hinge cover, with a slotted black velvet medal bed, opening with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release and a functional metal hinge, unmarked, measuring 68 mm (w) x 68 mm (l) x 22 mm (h), the lid liner inside the case has been partially severed, in overall extremely fine condition.
