Germany, Third Reich. An International Gliding Commission C-Grade Badge

(Internationale Segelflugkommission C-Abzeichen). Constructed of silver with enamels, the obverse consisting of a circular oak leaf wreathed joined together at the bottom by ribbon, around a central blue enameled disc bearing white gulls, the reverse with a boutonniere-style clip, stamped with an issue number of “1673”, a partially-legible maker’s mark ending in “TREß, FRANKFURT A. M.”, and a silver content number of “900”, measuring 20.64 mm in diameter, weighing 7.7 grams, two chips are evident to the centre of the enamel, in overall very fine condition.
