Germany, Wehrmacht. A General Assault Badge

(Allgemeines-Sturmabzeichen). Constructed of feinzink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, overlaid by a central Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, above a crossed bayonet and stick grenade, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 41.51 mm (w) x 53.67 mm (h), weighing 26.4 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
