Russia, Soviet Union. A Tula Arms and Technical School Graduation Badge

Constructed of gilded bronze with multi-coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of a diamond with white enameled borders, with a black enameled centrepiece overlaid by a red enameled five-pointed star bearing a sickle and hammer, with crossed cannons through the centre, above a red enameled banner bearing a gilt Cyrillic inscription of “ТОТУ”, the reverse with a screw and backplate, maker marked “МОНЕТНЫЙ ДВОР” for the Soviet Mint, measuring 25.56 mm (w) x 50.42 mm (h), some chipping and flecking evident to the enamels, in overall better than very fine condition.
