Germany, Imperial. A Patriotic 1914 Iron Cross Box and Document Clip

A rectangular box constructed of magnetic metal, the exterior of the box is cratered and the lid bears an iron cross paty, the centre bears a “W” encompassed by a border of laurel leaves, the 12 o’clock arm bears a crown and the 6 o’clock arm bears the date “1914”, the bottom has four rubber feet in the four corners and shows the wooden interior of the box, the interior is of a medium-toned wood, measuring 77 mm (l) x 112 mm (w) x 53 mm (h);

A document clip in the shape of an iron cross paty, constructed of bronze, the obverse centre bears a “W” encompassed by a border of laurel leaves, the 12 o’clock arm bears a crown and the 6 o’clock arm bears the date “1914”, the reverse is plain and is marked “GBN” in a diamond shaped border, a hole is punched at the 12 o’clock arm, with a spring bar in the centre, measuring 72.62 mm (w) x 68.06 mm (h), both extremely fine.
