A circular medal constructed of silver, the obverse bears a centrally located rifle, above is a mobile swastika on a circular field, below is a target, to the right is a branch of laurel, circumscribed with “FÜRS VATERLAND ÜB AUG UND HAND” (FOR FATHER'S OWN BY EYE AND HAND), the reverse bears an open-ended laurel wreath with a central inscription reading “II Ritter 1934” (2 Knight 1934), marked on the edge by the integral loop “E9 900”, with loop for suspension on a red and blue ribbon with a metal ribbon backer with a horizontal pinback, measuring 40.21 mm (w) x 45.16 mm (h), weighing 24.4 grams, very fine.
