Germany, Heer. An Army EM/NCO Belt Buckle, by L Gottlieb & Sohne, c. 1939

A rectangular belt buckle constructed of die stamped non-magnetic metal, the obverse centre bears a raised national eagle with outstretched wings clutching a swastika in its talons, encompassed by a border inscribed with “GOTT MIT UNS” (GOD WITH US) with an open ended oak leaf wreath at the bottom, on a pebbled field, the reverse bears a buckling loop and a double prong bar with a part of a brown leather belt attached, marked “L. G. & S. 39” (L Gottlieb & Sohne), measuring 64.15 mm (w) x 48.06 mm (h), very fine.
