A very desirable complete Bavarian Flyers badge consisting of an ovular badge constructed of silver ,the obverse centre bears the image of a right-flying plane over a hilly country-side town, encompassed by a wreath of half oak leaves and half laurel leaves tied with a ribbon in a bow at the bottom and topped with a crown, the reverse bears the maker mark “KARL POELLATH SCHROBENHAUSEN SILBER” in the centre encompassed by rays, with a vertical pinback and round wire catch, hollow, measuring 44.76 mm (w) x 73.41 mm (h), weighing 29.4 grams, extremely fine.
A corresponding stickpin, constructed of silvered non-magnetic metal, the obverse centre bears the image of a right-flying plane over a hilly country-side town, encompassed by a wreath of half oak leaves and half laurel leaves tied with a ribbon in a bow at the bottom and topped with a crown, the reverse is plain and unmarked, and attached to a vertical, fluted stickpin, measuring 11.71 mm (w) x 51.60 mm (h), very fine.
A rectangular case constructed of red pebbled faux leather, with push button closure, the interior lid is of cream coloured fabric embossed with “Carl Poellath k. B. Hoflieferant Schrobenhausen”, the medal bed is of deep red velvet with a recess for the pinback and a slot of the stickpin, measuring 68.15 mm (w) x 91.65 mm (l) x 25.15 mm (h), some scuffing but fine.
