Germany, Heer. An Infantry Assault Badge, Silver Grade, by E. Ferd. Wiedmann

An ovular badge constructed of silvered zinc, the obverse bears a cut-out rifle facing North-West, superimposed partially over the oak leaf border, topped with a national eagle with outstretched wings clutching a swastika in its talons, the bottom bears a ribbon with a pearled centre, the reverse is plain, unmarked and bears a vertical pinback with a round wire catch, measuring 47.68 mm (w) x 64.18 mm (h), weighing 35.2 grams, very fine.
