Germany, Wehrmacht. A Wound Badge, Silver Grade

(Verwundetenabzeichen). An ovular badge constructed of silvered tombac, the obverse bearing a central Stahlhelm overlaid with a mobile swastika, superimposed over two upwards facing crossed swords on a pebbled background, encompassed by a laurel leaf wreath tied with a ribbon in a bow at the bottom, the reverse is plain, unmarked and bears a vertical pinback with a flat wire catch, measuring 36.41 mm (w) x 43.89 mm (h), weighing 32.9 grams, very fine.
