Germany, Third Reich. A German Equestrian Badge, III Class, by Steinhauer & Lück

(Deutsches Reiterabzeichen III. Klasse). Instituted 9 April 1930. (1930-1945 issue). Constructed of bronze zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by a stylized belt around a raised letter “R”, with a central mounted horse on a hollow background, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, maker marked “STEINHAUER & LÜCK, LÜDENSCHEID”, measuring 42.55 mm (w) x 52.35 mm (h), weighing 15.0 grams, most of the bronze finish has been lost, in overall very fine condition.
