Germany, HJ. An EM/NCO’s Belt Buckle, by F.W. Assmann & Söhne

(HJ Gürtelschnalle). Constructed of a silvered bronze alloy, the obverse bearing a central raised German national eagle clutching a HJ insignia, within a ribbed ring bearing a raised inscription of “BLUT UND EHRE” (“BLOOD AND HONOUR”), the reverse with a loop and dual attachment prongs, maker marked with the logo of F.W. Assmann & Söhne, Lüdenscheid, as well as a Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) logo and code “17” for the aforementioned maker, measuring 64 mm (w) x 48 mm (h), minor oxidation and loss of finish evident, in overall better than very fine condition.
