Footnote: The Loyal Service Cross was instituted on November 11, 1906, in celebration of the fortieth anniversary of King Carol’s appointment as Domnitor of the Principality of Romania, to be awarded for long and faithful service to the Kingdom of Romania. The Cross could be awarded to Romanian and non-Romanian citizens.
