(Nahkampfspange in Bronze). Constructed of bronze zink, the obverse consisting of a square oak leaf wreath, topped by a German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, above a crossed bayonet and stick grenade, flanked on each side by four sun rays and four oak leaves with two acorns, the reverse with a barrel hinge and horizontal banjo-style pinback meeting a round wire catch, designer marked “PEEKHAUS, BERLIN” and maker marked with the logo of Friedrich Linden, Lüdenscheid, measuring 96.62 mm (w) x 25.88 mm (h), weighing 35.1 grams, most of the bronze finish has been lost and the centrepiece is missing its magnetic metal backplate, in overall very fine condition.
