Germany, Luftwaffe. A Short Range Day Fighter Clasp, Bronze Grade

(Frontflugspange für Jagdverbände in Bronze). Constructed of bronzed zink, the obverse consisting of a circular laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by a swastika, bearing a central upward-pointing winged arrow on a hollow background, flanked on each side by nine oak leaves, the reverse with a visible rivet securing the obverse applique in place, with a barrel hinge and horizontal banjo-style pinback, unmarked, measuring 76.90 mm (w) x 25.65 mm (h), weighing 15.7 grams, most of the bronze finish has been lost, in overall better than very fine condition.
