Germany, Third Reich. A Commemorative Austrian Anschluss Medal

(Medaille zur Erinnerung an den 13. März 1938) A circular medal constructed of tombak bronze, the obverse bears two raised male figures, the one on the right bearing the German flag in his left hand, with his right hand placed around the shoulders of the figure on the left, with broken chains around his right arm with a national eagle with outstretched wings clutching a wreathed mobile swastika in its talons below, the reverse centre bears the date “13. MARZ 1938” circumscribed with “EIN VOLK, EIN REICH, EIN FUHRER” (One People, One Country, One Leader), on a red ribbon with white and black stripes, measuring 31.96 mm (w) x 36.72 mm (h), very fine.
