(Heeresverpflegungssack). 1944 Issue. A large rectangular ration sack constructed of cream burlap. The obverse of the sack bears a black national eagle with outstretched wings clutching a wreathed swastika in its talons with two black stripes running vertically down the sack on the left and right. The reverse of the sack is stamped “H. Verpft. 1944” (Heeresverpflegungssack 1944 / Army Ration Sack 1944) with two black stripes running vertically down the sack on the left and right. The sack has been embroidered in yellow, green, pink, red and blue thread at the top on both sides. Measuring 660 mm (w) x 1000 mm (h). Apparent discolouration throughout, otherwise very fine.
