Germany, Heer. An Infantry Assault Badge, Silver Grade, by Friedrich Linden

(Infanterie-Sturmabzeichen). Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, diagonally across the wreath is a Karabiner 98k rifle with the bayonet attached and the carrying sling suspended from the rifle, the reverse with an integrated hinge and vertical pinback meeting a rounded integrated catch, maker marked with the logo of Friedrich Linden, Lüdenscheid, measuring 47.65 mm (w) x 63.36 mm (h), weighing 32.4 grams, most of the finish has been lost and some oxidation is evident, in overall very fine condition.
