Germany, Luftwaffe. A Bomber Flight Clasp, Silver Grade

(Frontflugspange für Kampf- und Sturzkampfflieger in Silber). Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of a circular laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by a swastika, overlaid by a downward-pointing winged bomb, flanked on each side by nine oak leaves, the reverse with a visible central rivet securing the obverse bomb in place, with a block hinge and tapering horizontal pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked, measuring 76.35 mm (w) x 25.57 mm (h), weighing 16.5 grams, some loss of finish evident, in overall near extremely fine condition.
