Germany, Wehrmacht. A General Assault Badge

(Allgemeines-Sturmabzeichen). Constructed of silvered feinzink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, overlaid by a central Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, on top of a crossed bayonet and stick grenade, the reverse with a crimped barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 42.40 mm (w) x 53.22 mm (h), weighing 15.4 grams, most of the silver finish has been lost, in overall better than very fine condition.
