Germany, Wehrmacht. A Krim Shield

(Ärmelschild Krim). Constructed of bronzed magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a map of the Crimean Peninsula and southern Ukraine, topped by a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, flanked by dates “1941-1942”, affixed with two reverse attachment prongs to a magnetic metal backplate with a field-grey wool backer, unmarked, the shield measuring 51.75 mm (w) x 61.27 mm (h), missing two of its reverse prongs, in overall near extremely fine condition.
