(Haus- und Verdienst-Orden des Herzogs Peter Friedrich Ludwig, Bruststern zum Großkomturkreuz mit der goldenen Krone). Instituted 27 November 1838 by Paul Friedrich August. (1838-1918 issue). Constructed of silvered with enamels, consisting of an eight-pointed star with pebbled raise, the obverse with a central blue enameled medallion depicting a raised silver monogram of Peter Friedrich Ludwig, within silver ring, in turn circumscribed by a raised inscription of “EIN GOTT, EIN RECHT, EINE WAHRHEIT” (“ONE GOD, ONE RIGHTEOUSNESS, ONE TRUTH”), within a final silver ring, the reverse with a barrel hinge and tapering vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 80.98 mm (w) x 81.98 mm (h), weighing 54.4 grams, tarnishing evident throughout with cracking to star base, possible fire damage, near fine.
