Germany, Luftwaffe. A Pilot & Observer Badge, by Friedrich Linden

(Flugzeugführer- und Beobachterabzeichen). Constructed of gilded and silvered feinzink, the obverse consisting of a gilded oval oak and laurel wreath, overlaid by a silvered swooping Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, with two visible rivets holding the obverse eagle in place, unmarked but with the physical characteristics of manufacturer by Friedrich Linden, Lüdenscheid, measuring 64.61 mm (w) x 53.13 mm (h), weighing 40.8 grams, there is evident of re-gilting in addition to loosening of the eagle, in overall very fine condition.
