Russia, Soviet Union. An Order of Labour Glory, III Class, by the Soviet Mint

(Орден Трудовой Славы 3-я степень). Instituted 18 January 1974. (1974-1991 issue). Constructed of silvered bronze with enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with a pentagonal magnetic metal backplate and horizontal pinback, consisting of an eight-pointed radiant star, bearing a raised depiction of a factory overlaid by a sickle and hammer, circumscribed by a Cyrillic inscription of “ТРУДОВАЯ СЛАВА” (“LABOUR GLORY”) on a cogwheel, topped by a five-pointed red enameled star, above a red enameled banner bearing a gilt inscription of “СССР”, flanked by wheat stalks, the reverse bearing a raised maker’s mark of “МОНЕТНЫЙ ДВОР” for the Soviet Mint, etched with an issue number of “78009”, measuring 40.72 mm (w) x 46.98 mm (h), weighing 43.3 grams (inclusive of ribbon and backplate), in extremely fine condition.
