Spain, Fascist State. A Civil War Victory Sash, for Senior Officers in Full Wear Uniform, by B. Castells, c.1940

An original full wear uniform Victory Sash for Senior Officers of the Spanish Civil War, consisting of a full-length moire silk in jam color, embellishing by nicely handmade ornament knots in same color, completed by delicate tassels in the ends, along with an attached gilt clasp in bronze, dated 1936-1939, with clasp marked by maker’s mark of B. Castells, Barcelona, measuring total length 180cm (including tassels), light contact, very good condition. Accompanied by the presentation case in red color, presenting a hard shelled structure, measuring 330 mm (w) x 43mm x 102mm (l), with two functional catches, stained and worn surfaces, fair condition. Overall a scarce set in good condition.

Footnote: This sash was worn by Senior Officers of the Nationalist Party once they achieved victory in the Spanish Civil War.
