A very sparse St. George Cross for the 1877-78 Russo-Turkish War, consisting of a four armed cross Pattee in silver, obverse presenting an engraved figure of Saint George on the central medallion, reverse bearing royal monogram of Alexandre II on the medallion, arms are numbered 72537, with the class name on the 6 o’clock arm, measuring 34.31mm x 44.55mm (h - inclusive of the eyelet), strong toned silver, otherwise very good condition.
Footnote: This is a very scarce medal that was awarded to Russian and their allies for the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-78. All the awarded medals are numbered and their recipient might be found State Archive of the Russian Federation.
