The cap is fully surrounded by scalloped fold-down side panels, and features a band of grey threaded piping around the circumference of the crown. Stitched onto the peak is an insignia in the form of a blue-grey cotton-blended backer bearing a machine-embroidered silver-grey Reichsbahn-style German national eagle. The eagle insignia measures 65 mm (w) x 30 mm (h). Underneath the eagle. The cap bears a BeVo-style tri-colour cockade, measuring 34 mm (w) x 34 mm (h), set within a silver-grey soutache. The interior is fully encompassed by a blue rayon blended liner, bearing a black ink maker’s mark of “PETER KÜPPER, WU.-RONSDORF”, a size of “57”, and a manufacture date of “APR. 1943”. The cap measures 285 mm (l) x 120 mm (h) when folded flat. Free of evident faults, the cap presents in an overall extremely fine condition.
