(Schlesisches Bewährungsabzeichen I. Klasse). Instituted 16 June 1919. (1919-1921 issue). Constructed of silvered bronze with enamels, the obverse consisting of a Silesian-style German national eagle with feathering highlighted in silver, overlaid by a crescent moon and cross, clutching a banner bearing a raised inscription of “FÜR SCHLESIEN” (“FOR SILESIA”), the reverse with a barrel hinge and tapering vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 31.59 mm (w) x 42.49 mm (h), weighing 21.2 grams, with some chipping of the enamels evident, in overall better than very fine condition.
