Germany, Wehrmacht. A Clasp to the Iron Cross 1939, I Class, Type II

(Spange zum Eisernen Kreuz 1939 I. Klasse). Constructed of silvered tombak, the obverse consisting of a detailed Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, above a trapezoidal plaque bearing a raised date of “1939”, the reverse with a block hinge and tapering vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked, measuring 45.32 mm (w) x 30.80 mm (h), weighing 9.8 grams, with some loss of finish evident, in overall near extremely fine condition.
