Germany, Wehrmacht. A Clasp to the 1939 Iron Cross, I Class, Type II

(Spange zum Eisernen Kreuz 1939 I. Klasse). Constructed of silvered tombak, the obverse consisting of a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, above a trapezoidal plaque bearing a raised date of “1939”, the reverse with a raised barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 44.32 mm (w) x 29.84 mm (h), weighing 9.2 grams, in extremely fine condition.
