(Heer Panzer Schiffchen). An extremely well-preserved Heer Panzer EM/NCO’s overseas cap, constructed of field-grey wool. The cap is fully surrounded by scalloped fold-down side panels, and flanked on each side by ventilation holes reinforced by non-magnetic metal eyelets. Stitched onto the peak is an insignia in the form of a field-grey cotton backer bearing a machine-embroidered grey Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, measuring 70 mm (w) x 28 mm (h). Underneath the eagle is a machine-embroidered tricolour cockade measuring 32 mm (w) x 32 mm (h), set within a rose-pink soutache. The interior features a complete grey cotton liner, stamped on the crown with a black ink maker’s mark of “L. BECK & SOHN, BERLIN”, with a date of “1940”. It also bears a size stamp of “54”. The cap measures 275 mm (l) x 100 mm (h) and is in an overall extremely fine condition.
