A 1914 Iron Cross I Class Award Document to Leutnant Richter, on cream-coloured paper. The document is bordered and bears an image of an Iron Cross at the top. With an ornate border. Dated 15 August 1915, signed and stamped. Presenting four folding creases, slight creasing, scuffing and tearing. Measuring 183 mm (w) x 281 mm (h), fine.

A 1914 Iron Cross I Class, (Eisernes Kreuz 1914 I. Klasse). Reinstituted 5 August 1914. (1914-1918 issue). Constructed of silver, consisting of a Cross Pattée with a blackened core within a ribbed silver frame, the obverse with a central initial “W”, the six o’clock arm with a reinstitution date of “1914”, the twelve o’clock arm with a royal crown, the reverse is plain and bears a vertical banjo-style pinback with a round wire catch, marked “ 800” (silver purity mark), measuring 42.75 mm (w) x 42.85 mm (h), weighing 15.5 grams, very fine.
