(SS-Helfer Ärmelabzeichen). Constructed of a white cotton base, dyed in black to reveal a white SS insignia inside of a triangle, unmarked, measuring 90 mm (w) x 68 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition.
Footnote: Arm insignia, such as the example offered, were worn by SS-Helfer units, comprised of youth volunteers from the Soviet Union. Most of these personnel served as flak crew.
Provenance Footnote: This item was brought to the United States as part of a souvenir lot in 1946 by Captain Glennon of the 318th US Infantry.
