The certificate for the Red Cross Medal 3rd Class is named to Kreisarzt (district doctor) Dr. Hermann Klare in Johannisburg (present day Pisz, northeastern Poland). It is dated to Berlin on January 27, 1917. A note on the back states that the award was handed out in Königsberg (present day Kaliningrad, Russia) on November 29, 1920. Measuring 204 mm (w) x 313 mm (h), presenting multiple folding creases, creasing, and some fraying of the edges, remains better than fine.
