Germany, Imperial. A Military ID Booklet and Two Photos of Gefreiter Heimlich (EK2)

The Military ID Booklet is named to Gefreiter (lance corporal) Konrad Heimlich. It is dated to Breslau on 11 May 1917.

Measuring 92 mm (w) x 143 mm (h), presenting scuffing of the cover, repair to the spine, and the body of the book having come loose, but undamaged, remains better than fine.

The two photos are glued to the same piece of paper. One shows Heimlich in uniform wearing an Iron Cross 2nd Class, measuring 68 mm (w) x 136 mm (h). The other photo shows the members of barrack room 24 of the 2nd Ersatz Maschinengewehr Kompanie (Replacement Machine Gun Company) in the Prussian Reserve Infantry Regiment No. 2 in 1918. Measuring 139 mm (w) x 89 mm (h). Both presenting scuffing of the edges, remaining very fine.

Footnote: Konrad Heimlich was born on 26 November 1895 in Raudnitz (present-day Roudnice nad Labem, northern Czech Republic). He first joined the army on 16 September 1914. Between January of 1915 and June of 1917, Heimlich was stationed on the Eastern Front, before being redeployed to Flanders and the Western Front. He was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd Class on 18 October 1917. Shortly before the end of the war, in October of 1918 Heimlich was taken prisoner. He returned home in June of 1919.
