Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, with a central Heer-style German national eagle above a crossed bayonet and stick grenade, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked, measuring 42.62 mm (w) x 53.04 mm (h), weighing 29.1 grams, accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of two pieces of card stock with a faux leather exterior liner, the interior retaining an original wax paper liner, unmarked, measuring 52 mm (w) x 64 mm (l) x 14 mm (h), with some oxidation and loss of finish evident to the badge in addition to material fatigue of the case, in overall better than very fine condition.
