Austria, Imperial. A 1902 International Blue Cross Society Vienna Exhibition Medal

(Blauen Kreuze Mitgliedsabzeichen). Constructed of gilded bronze with multi-coloured enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, obverse with central blue enameled Latin Cross circumscribed by gold enameled inscription reading “GESELLSCHAFT VOM BLAUEN KREUZE IN WIEN” (“SOCIETY OF THE BLUE CROSS IN VIENNA”), reverse with central raised inscription of “INTERNATIONALE AUSSTELLUNG DER HAUSFRAU WIEN, 1902” (“INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION OF HOUSEWIVES VIENNA, 1902”) within green enameled laurel leaves tied together with white enameled bow, unmarked, measuring 41 mm (w) x 56 mm (h), some flecking of enamels but in an otherwise near extremely fine condition.
