Germany, Imperial. A Pair of Wound Badges

(Verwundetenabzeichen). A pair of wound badges, including a Black Grade badge, constructed of blackened magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, with a central Stahlhelm on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field, the reverse with a crimped barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 38.16 mm (w) x 43.21 mm (h), weighing 12.2 grams, with most of the blackened finish lost, in overall very fine condition, and; a Gold Grade badge, constructed of gilded magnetic metal, of identical appearance, unmarked, measuring 39.16 mm (w) x 43.97 mm (h), weighing 7.4 grams, in extremely fine condition.
