Croatia, Independent State. An Order of Iron Trefoil 1941-45, II Class with Oakleaves

A Croatian Order of Iron Trefoil 1941-45; 2nd Class with Oakleaves; (for Gallantry in Action), nonmagnetic, in silvered tombac, cross lacquered in black, wreath in green lacquer; measures 47.3mm(w) x 49.27mm(h); this cross is not made by official maker Braca Knaus; it is completely hand made, while the wreath/oakleaves and Croatian “Pleter” symbol are hand chiseled, with typical German style pin and catch on reverse; in worn condition; most likely “in field” made cross.
