A fine-quality Gebirgs-Panzerjäger-Abteilungen 48 visor cap constructed of field-grey wool with a saddle-form shape and high central peak, with a blue-green wool cap band, with pink wool waffenfarbe piping to the crown edge and both the top and bottom edges of the cap band, the front centre of the cap features a stamped aluminum national eagle positioned above a two-piece silver and gilt washed stamped alloy edelweiss, the front centre of the cap band presents a stamped aluminum oak-leaf wreath encompassing a three piece national tri-colour cockade, with a black leather chin strap secured in place by two small black buttons, resting on a black lacquered Vulkanfiber visor with a raised lip near the forward edge, the interior of the cap is fully lined in champagne-coloured rayon, the crown features a clear celluloid sweat diamond with the maker mark OTTO SCHLIENTZ UNIFORMMÜTZEN STRAUBING, with the owner’s label in black typewriter font OBERWACHTMSTR. KIEHL 3.KOMP., the interior also features a tan coloured sweatband, measuring 23 cm (w) x 25 cm (l) x 15.7 cm (h), and in overall extremely fine condition.
