"Queen's University Highlanders" . In pickled brass, voided, maker marked "KINNEAR & DESTERRE" on the reverse, measuring 47.2 mm (w) x 66 mm (h), both lugs intact, reddish residue evident on the shield, very light contact, better than very fine.

 

Footnote: The Battalion was raised in Eastern Ontario with mobilization headquarters at Kingston under the authority of G.O. 48, May 1, 1917. The Battalion sailed April 29, 1917 under the command of Lieutenant-Colonel P.G.C. Campbell with a strength of 17 officers and 461 other ranks. In England, the Battalion was absorbed into the 5th Reserve Battalion. It was disbanded on September 15, 1920.
